Corporate Social Responsibility

JENO maran has always placed Corporate Social Responsibility as their main priority and has tried to do it in the best ways possible. We began our CSR Activities in the year 2000 and have come a long way in giving back to the society by being useful to customers and community during their times of need and in creating a safe, secure and sustainable future.

At JENO maran, we use eco-friendly and recycled materials In order to minimize the impact of construction on the environment. This initiated us to obtain the highest certification from LEED and complete the first high storied platinum certified green building. We are on the fast track to reduce carbon footprint and to contain global warming and surging sea levels.

With the ongoing changes in the global environment, each employee of the Jeno maran Group aspires to contribute to the society by following the core CSR themes.

Firstly, JENO maran Trust has made it a mission to carry tree growing projects and more than 2,00,000 trees have been grown till date, covering more than 100 residential colonies, lakes, ponds, etc. in Puducherry. Our first CSR activity at “Puducherry Kamatchi Amman Koil Street” is a live example for our care for nature.

We understand that our social responsibility does not end in growing trees but, it extends to nurturing them. We ensure the trees become self-sustainable by pruning, watering, fertilizing, fencing and protecting it from domestic animals. Trees grown by us in Aziz Nagar and in Lakshmi Nagar speak volumes of our nurturing care and attention. In Thiruvalluvar nagar, the trees form a beautiful canopy making the area look green and picturesque.

JENO maran Trust also provides consulting services for NGO’s and other organizations who have similar interest to plant and grow trees. We have also planted an ‘Herbal Garden’ in Bharathidasan Government College for Women (Puducherry) to enhance the green scape of the campus and impart knowledge to students on herbal plant varieties. We follow the Akira Miyawaki Method, which is a Japanese unique technique to grow forests. It requires very little space, a minimum of 20 square feet and the plant grows ten times faster, and the forest becomes maintenance-free in three years. We have adopted this method in Vivekananda Higher Secondary school, Villianur and in Annai Sivagami Higher Secondary School, Mudhaliarpet in collaboration with Rotary Club.

Our MD, Mr. Thangamanimaran has received award from Puducherry Chief Minister “V. Narayanasamy” for the tremendous initiative on growing trees.  Our Tree growing project ceremonies were presided by then Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry, “Kiran Bedi” and also by Member of Parliament “V.Vaithilingam” in two different occasions.

Secondly, JENO Maran Trust ensures that all the construction projects are installed with rainwater recharging systems to recharge ground water. In large scale construction projects, we go to the extra mile to set up wastewater recycling plant to recycle used water.

Thirdly, we give prime importance to education and support students of Government schools by providing notebooks and study guides to help them achieve their goals. JENO maran Trust also supports NGO’s who are involved in rehabilitation and education of underprivileged children. We are committed to provide a constant support system for them to be responsible citizens of society.

Fourthly, since Puducherry is a coastal city and is prone to natural calamities, JENO maran Trust is one among the few to come forward quickly to provide relief support to people affected by cyclones. During Thane, Gaja and Vardah cyclones, we distributed food, essential utilities and waterproof tarpaulins in the flood affected areas.

Fifthly, we support Orphanages, old age homes & NGO’s by extending proper support system to people with special needs. We provide cash donation to the “Deaf and Dumb Association” to procure hearing aids.

Sixthly, to ensure good health for those around us, we do organize free medical camps and counseling sessions for our employees and laborers. JENO maran trust is working on having our own old age home in the future and the works for it are in the pipeline.

In recognition of our contribution to the environment, we have been honored with The ‘Rotary Green Construction Award’ for Best ECO Environment Builder of the Year in 2003, The ‘Green Environment Builder Award’ for the Year in 2005 by the Rotary Club and ‘The Pasumai Chemmal Virudhu’ in 2018.

Our aspiration is to provide more for the society, and we sincerely hope to fulfill it. This helps us to get a sense of peace, satisfaction and achievement.
